WHEN A MAN builds an aeroplane in his spare time the chances are he does not have an ordinary nine to five job.
And Mr George Jeffrey, of Little Clanfield, who has made his own Taylor monoplane and is the Oxfordshire representative of the Popular Flying Association, is no exception – he builds sports cars for a living, yet only three years ago he had a somewhat boring job with a London advertising company.

The Jeffrey J5
Beautifully finished, as practical as is needed to be and sort of lovable, the J5 certainly reflected the amount of thought and effort that has gone into it. Lightweight, agile, fast and great fun, it was a real drivers car, and handled superbly in race-bred style.

George Jeffrey (hereinafter referred to as Jeff) had been on the 750 scene for a few years, starting with an Austin 7, sticks and string device which he prefers to forget. He welcomed the change in the regs. which enabled him, like many others to design and build a decent Racing car.
Jeff who is a qualified design engineer, reckoned that a lot of ordinary guys are scared off when it comes to designing a Racer out of their own heads and getting it together in real living metal. Like we’re not all Chapmans, Terrys or Broadleys.
