Who is George Jeffrey?

The JEFFREY EV1 is the latest car design in a long line of racing and road cars designed by George Jeffrey.

His first real interest in cars came about with the purchase of a three-wheeled Morgan that had been involved in a road accident. George and his brother set about re-building this extraordinary car with its V twin JAP engine stuck on the front.

George Jeffrey was brought up in an engineering and woodworking environment in the north of England. After graduating from Carlisle College of Art & Design in 1955 in illustration and graphic design, George spent some years working for some of the leading Advertising Agencies of the time. During this time George was involved with the 750 Motor Club in the UK building his first racing car in the garage. The motor racing bug took hold, George said goodbye to the Ad Agencies at the end of the 60s, Jeffrey Automotive was born.

With the construction of many 750s, 1200s, two sports cars, formula ‘V’ s, the JEFFREY EV1 was a natural progression considering George had always had an interest in green environmental issues, especially from the technology point of view.
